UX writing

2023

Context

In addition to documenting the first release of US Compliance, I also wrote all of the UI text for the first release. This included all field labels, screen names, button labels, and assistive text.

Terminology for government compliance

I needed to ensure we were properly adhering to the terminology in the US FDA Drug Supply Chain and Security Act (DSCSA), while still remaining as consistent as possible with TraceLink’s standard UI terminology and the patterns established in our other compliance solutions.

Product information architecture

I also defined and named the objects within the app, which are surfaced in the UI through the Process drop-down in the header. These objects were based on the existing platform object patterns, research about the way users think about the data they interact with, and the specific objects referenced in the DSCSA.

In addition to the IA of the navigation, I also defined the organization of the data on each screen based on user research, personas, industry standards, and the DSCSA.

Platform UX patterns

At a higher-level, I was involved in developing the platform patterns that shaped the IA, navigation, user journeys, UX writing, and overall UX of this solution.
